Christmas At Last!

Like most of you, I've been working on making Christmas cards lately and today I've finally got one to show you.  Apologies for the shocking photograph - the colours have just not come out well.  In real-life the card base is a beautiful plum shade - guess you'll need to use your imagination on that one!

This bauble stamp is one of the first that I ever bought and it's still one of my favourites for Christmas.  The baubles are clear embossed and are strung on some silver embroidery thread which is attached on the back of the card.  I also popped up the baubles on foam dots for a bit of depth.

I've plenty more Christmas cards to share with you so watch this space!  Hopefully the photography will be better next time around...

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Easter in December??

Okay, so even though it's December and I should right now be posting Christmas-type creations, I've got some Easter gifts to show you...Earlier this year I made these little Easter gifts for my family, and filled the containers with foil-wrapped chocolate eggs.

The little containers came from my local craft store and I covered them with patterned papers stuck down with PVA glue.  I tried a few different adhesives, trying to avoid the bubbly texture that can come with liquid glues, but in the end PVA really was the best one for the job!

The image for the tags is just a clipart pic from my computer that I coloured in with pencils as I don't have any Easter stamps in my stash.

These little gifts were so fun to make!

Christmas stuff coming soon... I promise ;)

More of the blues

Hi folks, one of my favourite blogs is Karen Giron's The Sweetest Thing.  Each Sunday Karen produces a sketch and I love filing these away for when I'm needing a little inspiration!  Earlier this year I made this card based on an old Sweet Sunday Sketch of Karen's from February 2009, which you can find on this post here

I love the simplicity of this sketch, it will be one I go back to time and time again!
I stuck mainly with blues for this card so that the little yellow punched flower really jumps out.

Thank you for visiting

Feeling Blue

Hi there,
I'm back with another card featuring my favourite little dragonfly.  This time I stamped him in blue ink and resisted the urge to colour him in :)
I have a bit of a thing for pinstripe so I'm loving this pinstripe paper!

Thanks for coming by today!

Sweet Dragonfly

I'm back with another card I made earlier in the year. I absolutely adore this little dragonfly image; it came as part of a set with butterflies and other dragonflies but in throwing out the packaging, I threw out the brand name too - oops! It's most likely a Kaisercraft stamp set, but don't quote me!!

I quite like this colour combo of red & chocolate brown with just a hint of colour penciled in on the stamped image. By the way, those brad-looking things in the top right corner are just little punches of cardstock that I made with my eyelet punch - so simple, yet quite effective I think :)

It's really starting to warm up here and last night was one of those hot sticky nights where you just can't sleep. Am hoping I get a better sleep tonight because right now I can't seem to stop yawning. Perhaps coffee will help...

Thanks for stopping by.

Small Wonder

Hello, I'm back with another card from the archives.  This one I made for friends who had just had a baby boy.  The gorgeous bear is a digi stamp that I downloaded free from the net but I can't for the life-of-me recall where I got it from - if this is yours, please let me know so I can give you credit.

It's such a fun image for a baby card - he's so cute i just want to give him a squeeze!!  Plus it's super easy to paper-pierce which is what I did here.  I really love how this one turned out.

Hope you have a lovely day :)

Cardstock & Paper: Chocolate Chip (SU!) and gingham DSP from my stash

Blog-land Debut

Ready or not, here i come!!!!!!

It's my first official post in blog-land {eeeek!!} and I'm kinda quite excited about it!  I've been taking photos of the cards I've been making for ages in readiness for when I finally got around to setting this blog up, best laid plans and all that.  So without further ado, here's a card I made earlier this year...

Trendy Trees (SU!) is one of my favourite stamp sets - it's perfect for masculine cards and i just love the two-colour look that two-step stamping allows.

Thanks for being a part of my first post :)
